WHY IT MATTERS
A clinical approach, grounded in your daily life.
Medical nutrition therapy is a personalized service delivered by a registered dietitian. It considers your medical conditions, health goals, preferences and any recommendations from your treating clinicians. When appropriate, dietitians can help translate complex medical advice into meals and routines that are practical at home.
Medical nutrition therapy for blood sugar and heart health
For clients with diabetes or prediabetes, a nutrition visit may focus on carbohydrate quality and distribution, meal timing, fiber, and how your eating plan fits with prescribed medications. Heart-health nutrition may include identifying sources of saturated fat and sodium while emphasizing vegetables, legumes, whole grains, fish and unsaturated fats.
There is no universal meal plan. Your preferences, lab work and care-team guidance determine the next steps.
What a consultation may include
- Reviewing relevant history and goals you choose to share
- Discussing patterns in meals, symptoms, appetite and lifestyle
- Creating practical, personalized food strategies and meal ideas
- Following up and adjusting recommendations as needs change
